Anyone here sending your EOTech back for a refund? Apparently all that's required is to fill out the online return authorization form and tell them how much you paid for it. Personally I like the reticle better than others but not at the cost of being off target.

What's everyone else doing?

But I'm not 100% up to speed, either. I've had EOTechs for over a decade, and this is the first time the issue has come up. Unclear to me whether it's supposed to be all HWS, or just certain models. Don't know if the temperature variance worries me too much: if it hits below 25 degrees in Houston, we're almost on lockdown, and I don't keep an HWS locked in a hot car. Dunno. I need to do more research.

I have, though, always loved the EOTech reticle. The outer circle is basically like a ghost ring and, at ECQ distances is super fast. With a flip-up magnifier, the 1-MOA dot is good for most purposes out to 100-150 yards. The three I have always have worked fine for my needs. So I'll need to do more research before thinking about switching to Aimpoint.

ETA: I sent an email asking about my options and whether or not they were affected and they offered nothing more than the option to return for a refund. I get the impression it affects all of the HWS's they make. There appears to be no more information available that they're willing to disclose.

No one's eotech is ever going to be effected by the temperatures that they're truly rated for. The whole issue was because they lied.

A lot of people are sending them back just to get out more money than what they paid for theirs. The company is losing a ton of money on it, but just a small number in comparison to the lawsuit settlement.

One of the members of my gun club said that several guys from his PD have had issues with theirs maintaining zero and don't trust them any longer. The department has since banned EoTech sights on their weapons.

Untrue. For a long gun left in the trunk of a car in the summer, it can quite easily reach 120+ degrees F.

Not true. In my time in the Air Force, I had to function in temps as low as -65F and as high as 120F. I personally wasn't toting a rifle at those temps, but others were.
