Stupid College Station Taco C

Went in the other night and got some food like I do from time to time.

This time I noticed a non-compliant 30.06 next to the alcohol warning (dont bring a gun because we sell alcohol) not a 51%.

The 30.06 sign had about half in letters and was in english in spanish. I chuckled a bit, placed my order, ate and left.

I should really get some of those TSRA cards.

Saw the same thing a couple of weeks ago at the T.C. down in Galveston...

For what its worth...I'm not going to give them an education...Because they know why they are posting that sign...Correctly or not...

Plus, the food s%#ks (at least the one we went to that day)

I might drop a No CHL - No $$$ card on them someday, but I'm not going to tell them their sign is non-compliant...

But...That no guns, we sell alcohol sign is funny...They don't sell enough to come close to getting to post an on-premises 51% sign...Texas BATFE guys run that show last I heard...I may be wrong, but if a business posts a 51% sign, and its not true, those BATFE guys come in and inform them to take it down...At least thats what I may have heard they do in the past...

But why would we want to educate them...

Taco Cabana is not all that to begin with...I liked Two Pesos better...

Amen on the bad food. The TC on Hwy 6 @ Bellaire poisoned me and I haven't been back. Been over 10 years.
Taco Bueno is much better.

Anyway, it seems that I see a lot more non compliant signs popping up. In the wrong place, partially blocked by other signs, wrong wording etc. It's an epidemic.

UH OH...

You shouldn't have gone and said the TB word...

My wifes biggest accomplishment during her high school working days...She'll tell you that right off the bat...

We're the two whole days she worked at Taco Bueno...

They had one right down the street from her in Pasadena...It closed...

And after we got married...We we're up in Dallas years ago, and she saw one near my grandmothers house...WE GOTTA STOP AND EAT!!!!

Ok, that said and done...That one is gone now...And I don't think there are any other franchises anywhere in Texas anymore...

If I was motivated to do so, I'd open up a Taco Steve's and have a big sign out front...CHL'ers Welcome...Or have it "posted" CHL'ers Bienviedos

Or something like that...

Give ya'll a 20% discount too...With proof of ID...

Be rakin' in da dough then...

Hey Steve,

How about dinner tonight?

I'll spring for the movie tickets. Wanna see "Must Love Dogs"?

You have to cook.

I'll clean up.

There's practically a Taco Bueno on every corner in DFW.

The one that was there, and then vanished, was in Mesquite...Near Casa Linda...White Rock Lake area...

I'd like to add that I've visited quite a few Taco Buenos in the area and not one of them was posted 30.06, 51% or anything else. They are CHL friendly.

Sorry, Steve. I really shouldn't get between a Texican and his Tex-Mex. Good Tex-Mex is a beautiful thing.

Our favorite is Gringo's. Try the Pollo Marisco.

Qote: "Texas BATFE guys run that show ..."

:) Got a grin out of that one. Not to pick nits, but looks like a little confusion there with the alphabet soups. Methinks it be TABC, Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Let's combine the Taco Cabana/Bueno thread and the OC pepper spray thread. OC spray is food grade, and can really spice up some tex-mex cookin'!

Sorry, gigag04. I will steer back on course. How is this?

Forget the fast food Tex-Mex. Gringo's at Mall of the Mainland is not posted. Fast, cheap, convenient. Try the Pollo Marisco, or the Pescado Marisco. It is not on the menu, so ask your server.
