Glock 19 since 2001, considering P229

My first semi-auto pistol was a Glock 19, early Gen 3. I love it and it has shot thousands of holes in paper with no problems. It is my current carry gun.
I'm getting the itch to buy a new carry gun. Considering a P229. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has gone from a Glock 19 to a Sig P229.
Better? Worse? The same?

Both great guns. The Sig will be heavier because of the frame not being polymer. It will be a little more bulky if you get the one with a rail. You might look into a Sig P228 or the M11-A1. They are 9mm only and have no rail. They are a little heavier, but not bulky.
I left the Glock and went back to Sigs a few years ago. I like both, but I like the Sig a little better. It is also always a great reason just to had another firearm.

I'm partial to Glocks but 229 is a nice gun.
I tried it out for few months, but I just couldn't get adjusted to the trigger.
If you go for 229, be sure you squeeze off several hundred rounds thru the pipe before you carry, to get adjusted to the trigger difference.
That is of course unless you are already familiar with it.

Trigger is different. I suggest the extra shooting, but I also suggest more like everyday for 5 or 10 minutes dry fire and dry fire. The first pull is double action and it takes a lot of getting used to as parabelum said.

If you get a Sig, get one with a short reset trigger. I have an M11-A1. It comes with the SRT, night sights and three mags. I highly recommend it.
One caveat, the Sigs with the E2 frame (M11-A1,P229 with 15 round mags) are a bit difficult to find holsters for.

like said above its going to be heavier, but like you i find i shoot sigs (and hk) more accurately than glocks.
one thing i could suggest is search for an LEO tradein 229 you can find them at fairly decent prices and if you get a .40 it can shoot any of .357 or 9mm with conversion barrels.
