"46.03" Sign at SAT

I was in San Antonio this week for work. I noticed at the entrances to the airport they have a sign citing PC 46.03 prohibiting weapons. We all know that that applies only to the TSA secured area, but they were placed on the entrance to the terminal, I assume to intimidate concealed and open carry. I don't really have enough guts to open carry there or in DFW non-secure areas, though it's quite legal. Anybody from San Antonio have any background on these signs? They looked fairly new.

As the parentparent of a high schooler, I feared this thread was about carrying while taking the SAT

Years ago, they used to have a 3006 sign up at SAT. It was invalid then, since the city owns the airport. About the time they finished terminal A, they scraped the 3006 and put up the secured area sign. I took it as more of a reminder not to carry into the TSA checkpoint since the sign mentions the secure areas. I never found it intimidating (probably since I remembered the attempt at 3006) but can understand how you'd feel that way.

FWIW, post 1/1/16 sign at IAH, terminal C entrance, the wording seemed unusual:
"No unlicensed firearms allowed" (IIRC)
Seemed unusual in that it talked about firearms themselves either being licensed or unlicensed. Assume it is just a poor choice of wording to keep out longarms and oc pistols.
46.03 would makes more sense than what is currently displayed.

How can IAH prohibit OC?

They can't.
I am assuming the wording they are using is intentional, in order to create uncertainty, which may cause some individuals to not carry in the non-secure area. What do they have to lose?

I agree. I think that's what San Antonio is doing with their 46.03 sign...

That's funny! I can appreciate that was your first impression Roy!

Turn them in to the AG. At the very least the city will have to reply with a mountain of paperwork and a hefty law bill to justify their bull.
