OC or CC carry question

I haven't seen this discussed anywhere?
The dilemma of going to the Restroom while your out at a Restaurant or any place for that matter. Whether CC or OC I find it difficult going to the restroom and trying to hold on to the weapon. I wear a regular belt with a leather holster that is made specifically for a 9mm Beretta.
I find myself using the stall instead and taking the gun out of the holster until I'm done. Am I technically breaking the law? I just don't see a better way.
