I visited my credit union Texas Bay Credit Union (Formerly Texas Bay Area CU) Lawndale location where I have been a member for over 40 years in the middle of January they still had only a gun buster sign. This building is brand new (opened in November I think) so I believe they intended to stay that way. I don't know what changed, but they now have both 30.06 and 30.07 signage. I will be writing the president expressing my disappointment and to encourage him to remove the signs. The CU is probably one of the largest in the area and has 5 branches all around the Houston area. They are building one in League City as well. If they keep the signs I guess I'll be looking for a gun friendly CU.

That stinks.

Don't forget to point out that CHLs have been carrying in that credit union for 20 years without issue.

Putting up a "Rob US!!!" sign is foolish.

Hopefully, it's a misunderstanding by the credit union and it will be rectified.
You may want to point out that League City has the highest per capita LTCs in Texas.

Good point, WB. I'll point that out.

I mentioned this in another thread as well. It is probably because of their insurance. The credit union my mother runs put up signs because their insurance was going to raise their premiums if they didn't. They haven't ever had signs up before, and it isn't like she just decided to out of the blue. Her and my stepdad sleep with a shotgun next to the bed, so isn't like she is afraid of guns. She knows they have had people conceal carrying for years in there. It was purely a monetary decision.

So why aren't insurance companies raising their premiums for companies that allow non-LTC holders to enter with handguns?? :roll:

I would like to know why insurance companies think they need to raise insurance prices because of concealed carriers.

Insurance companies look for any excuse to raise premiums. I know I keep harping on the Bloomberg grassy knoll, but he has a lot of money and influence in places we can only imagine. What would a few well placed phone calls as a stock holder do to push companies in that direction?

Don't forget Warren Buffett's companies. Beside GEICO Berkshire Hathaway has many other insurance operations;

"Insurance operations contributed $5.2 billion to total operating income of $16.6 billion for Berkshire Hathaway in 2014"
