I've been a polymer pistol guy for a long time but I have always wanted a 1911. So I sold one my
My glocks and bought the ruger SR1911. I love this pistol it is fantastic. Trigger is amazing shoots great and first time out at forty yards I was nailing the 8 inch steel plate. The novaks sights that it comes with are outstanding. Some g about a 1911 makes you smile and feel like you can take on the world! I am proud to own one!

Seems like we saw the light together. Got my SR1911 about 60 days ago. My last polymer is pending sale, picked up a Sig P938 to replace my polymer BUG, and I picked up my SW 1911 Performance Center last night. Lookin to get a railed 4 inch 9mm 1911 next.

I'm in the process of making the same conversion. Got delayed a bit by a hand injury that will keep me sidelined for another month or so. But that gives me more time for research.
My primary EDC was a Glock 26. I am leaning toward a Dan Wesson CCO as a replacement. 8 rounds of 45 instead of 11 rounds of 9mm, more accurate, and easier to conceal. There is a price difference, so I am selling some unused guns to make it work.

fav holster yet, gun is snug so draw is slow the first day or so, but its nice and fast now. The retention is positive and audible and the release button is easily manipulated with middle finger.

Nice to see a glock owner who has something nice to say about 1911's.

I love my Glock 19 which I currently Edc in a crossbreed super tuck but I will be EDC'ing my 1911 when i get the holster I want. I love 1911's. I don't understand why people trash either. Both are great and I'd trust my life on them. The biggest safety is between your ears regardless if you carry a 1911 or Glock. Each has its place. I am way more accurate with a 1911 than my Glock so I definitely feel confident with 9 rounds of 45 acp

I've had my SR1911 CMD for almost 2 years and love it. I've also just purchased and Glock 19 G4 and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I'm sure both are here to stay.

The G19 is a great fun and shoots well no upgraded my sights to some Dawson precision sights. Blacked out rear and fiber optic front cuz I hate stock Glock sights. But other than the sights good gun. If I was told to shoot I million rounds I'll grab the Glock anyday cuz it would most likely do it.

Woo its been a busy 45 days.
Got my first 1911, a Ruger LW commander back in Jan. Had some issues with it but added magpul grips, tfx sights, wilson combat extended slide release and mag well. The issues didn't deter me from another 1911.
Ordered an S&W 1911 Performance Center 5 inch, and while I waited for that to arrive I replaced my polymer BUG with a 1911 inspired gun, SIG p938 Blackwood.
Tonight, I picked up an RIA 1911 Tactical II FS 9mm.
Does anyone have a cure?
