I've got this wild idea about buying a Bushmaster in .223 cal.
What is it going to cost me to go plink ? I'd like to buy in bulk at a reasonable price.
Rock River Arms offers an assult rifle in 9mm. I'm just trying to get a feel of these rifles before I make THAT investment.
Any feedback is appreciated.

223 is not very reasonable at the moment.....it has gone up a good bit lately..... but I am afraid that is the case with all ammo.
I am sure that reloading 223 makes it a bit more economical.......but I really have not looked into it.

Bushmaster is a great rifle.
When I bought mine about 4 years ago, Wolf .223 was running about $.10/round. But right now it's getting hard to find ammo for it.
The ammo forum at ar15.com has got a great reference page with availability and pricing.
I do hope the situation improves.

Get a Bushmaster and a .22LR conversion kit. You can shoot all day for very little $$$. Just buy plenty of cleaning supplies.

Pipe cleaners will do a pretty good job on the gas tube...That .22LR stuff necessitates it...
