Long time lurker, first time poster here. Just thought some would be interested in this. HCC will be hosting open forums on campus carry. I am going to hopefully attend at least one. Being a current student and carrier I hope to be able to make a case for our 2a rights.

Welcome to the forum. Be sure to report how it goes. I hope you are not the only voice of reason there.
If they are anything like the administrators at U of H there will be plenty of push back from the left on the whole idea of legal carry by people who have a well documented history of carrying without incident.

Thank you. I've never been to anything like this so it is intimidating. Does anyone know of any local 2a student organizations? I'm going to reach out to students for campus carry but I think their Texas chapter is based in Dallas.

Students for Concealed Carry has a chapter at the University of Houston: https://www.facebook.com/SCCUH

They might have some members who also attend classes at HCC.
