Just saw this gem on their website...
...
OPEN CARRY RULES
Patrons and vendors will be allowed to carry both concealed and open carry while at the Real Texas Gun Show.
HOWEVER, NOTHING HAS CHANGED CONCERNING BRINGING LOADED WEAPONS INTO THE GUN SHOW, IT IS NOT PERMITTED!!!!!
You will be ask to remove your ammunition and leave it in your vehicle. This is a safety issue only. Loaded weapons have not ever been allowed on the gun show floor by PATRONS OR VENDORS. We strive to provide a safe, family atmosphere and this will helps to prevent accidental discharges. You are entering into a PRIVATE EVENT and bringing loaded firearms into this PRIVATE EVENT IS PROHIBITED!!!
Refusal to comply with this rule is grounds for removal from the premise and or arrest.
Im still trying to figure out who owns or leases the Bell County Expo because their website doesn't specify. I cannot get the Bell County tax assessors property lookup to work to get a determination. Let's say for arguments sake they attempt to enforce this policy there is no way it's legal if owned or leased by a governmental entity correct? Does anyone know if the Bell County Expo center is owned or leased by a governmental entity?

IMHO, it is good idea. Why there is more ND in the gun shows? Because many first time gun buyers go there to learn what is available out there.

You do realize in order to openly carry a handgun or to conceal carry you must have a LTC right? Those aren't first time gun buyers/owners.

To find out:
Bell County Appraisal District
http://bellcad.org/
Property Search (up at top)
301 W Loop 121, Belton, TX 76513 (Address of Bell County Expo Center)
but ... their server is experiencing difficulties
I'm thinking>The notice above probably applies to "unlicensed" people, that's not a 30.06/30/07 sign, and they said open/concealed IS allowed ...
Might be interesting if Govt owns property and they want ammo checks of concealed weapons carried by licensees ... interesting to try to enforce that
"private rule" ...

Yeah that's what I'm wondering is since a governmental entity owns it they cannot Prohibit concealed or open carry but can they enforced a no loaded gun policy?!?

How are they going to prevent your access? Presumably by physically stopping you from entering public property. They can't use trespass law or 30.06/7 since it doesn't apply, so if they restrict you physically are they committing assault?

To follow up on what I wrote above...eventually someone is going to have to be the proverbial "test case". Let's take the Bell County Expo center as an example.
- I buy a ticket and I walk up with my CC handgun, concealed & loaded, say in my waistband at 6 o'clock.
- Do they wand people going in? If they alert do they make you unload and zip tie? Who? Event staff?
- OK I refuse, citing my LTC and begin to walk in.
Is it a Bell County Deputy or local LEO enforcing the policy? He/she arrests me? For what? Not 30.05, 30.06, or 30.07...they specifically don't apply. Do they block my path to enter? Detain me? On what grounds?
Does event staff physically restrain me from entering? In the presence of a LEO? Is that assault? Do I have a civil cause of action against the event for preventing my lawful entry to publicly owned property?

At the gun show, there is was no need for LTC to open carry. Before 1/1/2016 at the gun shows I have been to, it was zip tie the barrel and carry it the way you like.

Yeah exactly their claim of a private event private rules does not apply to LTC as per 30.06(e) It is an exception to the application of this section that the property on which the license holder carries a concealed handgun is owned or leased by a governmental entity and is not a premises or other place on which the license holder is prohibited from carrying the handgun under Section 46.03 or 46.035.
I'm going to email them about this and see their response.

Did you get a response? I just moved to the area and plan on going to the gun show at the expo center in May.

I am not sure why you would even go. This gun show has been having fewer and fewer vendors every time I go. Ammo is more expensive than Academy or even Gander Mountain, Too many trinket and bead vendors and most gun prices are above those on-line or at many retail establishments. Best reason to go is to fondle and price compare.

The last few I attended weren't worth the time and money.
Prices weren't competitive with retailers, lots of shoddy old military junk, cheap knives and just general garage sale type junk.
My days of going to gun shows are over.

Thanks for the info. I was mainly going to see if it was posted.
On a side note, I've been trying to send you PMs but they are staying in my outbox for some reason. Don't know if you remember telling me to hit you up once I finally got stationed in Hood to get my HL class, seeing as I only have a TN resident permit right now.
