Could be the rainy weather here in Austin, or not a great night sleep, but I woke up with a really eerie feeling today. Ever get the feeling that something bad is going to happen and you need to be more prepared than usual?

I'm not a paranoid person, but I'm carrying a backup today in addition to my EDC.

Here's hoping it's a normal Monday!

I would be paranoid every morning, if I lived in Austin.

It's called a 'premonition'. My Mom used to get them either before or during an event and many times she was on target. She called us one day right after some friends of ours were killed in a terrible accident. She started out by saying 'I wanted to call because I had a feeling something was wrong.' She did things like this many times over her life where there was no way she could know something was going to or had happened, but she had a 'feeling'. They didn't all pan out, but more times than not she was right.

Hope yours is one of those non-events.

As unbelievable as it is.. I think "premonitions" are possible and impossible to deny.

One morning my dad told that my uncle on my mom's side, someone he hasn't seen in decades or talked to, visited him in his dreams to tell him that he was leaving and said his goodbyes. Later I found out my uncle passed that day.

Hope today goes without needing your BUG or primary.

I woke up w/ one of those feelings this morning as well. Though I think I can explain mine away with the bad weather here in Houston.

I'm outside Austin too. The gloomy weather surely doesn't help, but let's just hope that's all it is s. Stay safe today.

My wife has had multiple premonitions. Since I have known her there were two passed relatives and a passed pet. She also deals with anxiety issues but her premonitions are distinctly different. She can feel the difference.

I hope that we all have an uneventful day.

I think that some folks, subconsciously, are capable of putting together lots of little bits of information that, taken together, set off warning flags for them. If one or more of those bits of info change, then the event that the brain sees coming doesn't happen. Think of it like an early warning radar. I hope things go well for you today, despite your bad feeling. Best wishes and good luck.

Had a dream once where I was watching a plane lose pieces as it was flying through the air and then crashed nearby with a thunderous boom. The next day the Libyans blew up a 747 over Lockerbie, Scotland.

I believe that some have those "feelings". I have had them myself, though they don't always come at night.

A colleague and I had gone to Raliegh for a conference and were on our way to dinner after our meetings. It was raining moderately and traffic was congested on a two lane road. I looked at the lane across from us and suddenly knew before it happened and while there still was plenty of time to stop that the oncoming car was going to slam into the car beside us. Sure enough, a couple of seconds later, it did with a horrible crash. I looked a the face of the driver who had caused the crash and said outloud to my collegue "he is going to run". I don't have a clue about how I knew that. About 10 seconds latter, he put is car into reverse, backed up a couple of feet and the swerved around the car that he had just hit by driving on the shoulder. Even knowing that it was coming, neither of us got a good look at the license plates.

We waited for the police to arrived to be witnesses for the woman whose car had been hit. Fortunately, she was not hurt and only shaken up. Her car was not in good shape. My collegue quizzed me several times later about how I knew in advance what was happening. The plain truth is that I just KNEW.

Well, so far so good. Thanks for the encouragement, though! I'm done with my meetings for the day and am working at home for the afternoon (my usual Monday), so I'm guessing things will be quiet. Definitely keeping my piece on me even at home.

I think part of the feeling may have come from knowing we let an employee go on Friday and it was unexpected. If any of you are an employer, you know the worries that can come with that. All that said, I totally believe that these feeling are sometimes legit. So my head is on a swivel.
