Changes in the "Look" of the Plastic - 2011-2016

Just for looks sake...

The small changes in the look of my "plastic" since I was first licensed back in 2011. The photo below of the back, lower left is from my original card which I replaced after an address change. That reflected the change in the law regarding revolver/semi-auto carry. The most recent card, of course, reflects the change from CHL to LTC, and added the "Veteran" label.

By the way, I never did see an "NSA" license. I didn't have to shoot when I got my original license as I qualified yearly with the USAF with an M-9, and didn't go to the range after the academic portion of my class ended. Don't remember if anyone there brought a revolver with them. Anyone here ever have that category? (Qualify with a wheel gun only?)

Just curious...

I've never seen an NSA either. But I was told that most instructors would strongly recommend you bring a semi-auto or they would even have some for the students to use in the event that they showed up with a revolver so that they wouldn't be unnecessarily limited as to which type of handgun they could carry.

:iagree: When I took the class in '96, our instructor pointed that out. All the revolver guys I knew dug up a semi-auto for the range portion of the class. I don't know of anyone locally who had an NSA flavor license.

I was under the impression that the requirements had been changed, and that it no longer mattered what you qualified with. You can now carry either revovler or SA.

Correct. That's why you do not see the "Category" listed on the plastic in the middle of my first photo. That change happened before the switch from CHLto LTC.
