Traveling through New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Kansas.

Any help is appreciated.

1. Do any of these states have a "no gun" sign that is valid?
2. Do any of these states have a magazine limit?
3. Do any of these states have a number of firearms you can carry on your person?
4. Do any of these states of something similar like our 51% sign or carrying in Chili's permitted?
5. Do any of these states have any quirky laws that I should be aware of?

Any help with be a huge help.

The fist thing that pops up with these states is Indian Reservations, you probably already know those are of limits. Colorado has a 15 round mag limit. Beyond that, that is as much as I know off the top of my head.

In NM, on of the more interesting sign problems is on grocery stores. in 2007, a revision was passed that says that this sign

no longer applies to concealed license holders. All other signs do apply. Concealed carry in restaurants that serve liquor is not allowed. I wish they had a 51% approach but they don't.

If you want to do so reading, the CO ban on higher capacity magazines, because there is a "grandfather clause" appears to be unenforceable. It may be another case where you could beat the rap but not the ride. Fortunately for me, my largest magazine does not exceed their limit. Of the States that you mentioned, CO seems to be the most contentious and where the interpretation of the laws might be interesting. There were a number of CO gun rights groups with some "in your face" style suggestions on their websites. I'm not anxious to go down that path in another State.

I did notice Colorado had some magazines grandfathered in. I didn't know if I should just the 10 rounders "just in case." My biggest concern are the Indian Reservations. In appears a lot of highways run right through the middle of the Indian Reservations.

The restaurant is problem. It seems I read for Colorado as long is you did not consume alcohol or sit in the bar area you were find.

The more I try to understand other States I sure appreciate Texas.

I travel through NM frequently and the Tribal Lands are a concern. If you stay on the major highway even though it travels through the Tribal Lands you should be fine. Just don't stop for fuel or at one of their smoke shops.

One gun in New Mexico, don't speed on highways through the reservation. They (Tribal Police) will keep your firearm if they find you have one in many cases.

I keep the LegalHeat 'app' on my phone. That way I can always check the laws of each State. I try to familiarize myself before leaving, when I travel, but its nice to have it at hand.

pick up the app "ccw", I think it was .99$ when I got it a few years ago. that way if you end up with a specific question, ie, church, park, etc, you can look it up quickly.

When traveling through East Texas years ago, I stopped at the Alabama-Coushatta reservation to buy gas and what turned out to be a stale cigar. I had a gun in my truck, but I never thought of the Indian reservations having different rules, and I wasn't stopped. I guess I got lucky.

Thank you for all of the help guys. The Indian Reservations seems to throw a kink in traveling with ease. I like to carry my EDC and then when I travel I like to put the AR15 in the back of the SUV - just in case.

I wouldn't worry too much about the reservations unless you are unruly and otherwise breaking some law/s. For the past 10 summers, I've carried through all of those states, sometimes openly, without comment from either local/state OR tribal LEO.

Having said that, YMMV...

When traveling through CO, you need to have a CHL residenice license in order to carry.

Reading Handgunlaw.us they say that Colorado recognizes Texas CHL. Is something changed or can I not read?
