Anyone else periodically get telemarketers calling about wireless security systems?
I absolutely love when they call me and rather enjoy it. I always reply that I already have wireless security. They then inquire what I presently use and I reply Remington Brand 870. This gets really amusing if they are foreigners or even quasi-forefingers (such as New Yorkers). They then ask what type of contract obligations my current system has and I tell them no contract. No fees. One time purchase food for a lifetime and how by also purchasing smaller security devices such as Kahr or Glock it extends protection to my vehicle and my person no matter where I go. I enjoy stringing them on as long as possible
Their confusion and ignorance always amuses me. Perhaps I'm rude but if so then so be it.

I thought you meant food for the weapons, a.k.a. ammo!

And a real serious insurance company should give us incremental discount sending in copies of the invoices of fire extinguishers (which the actually mandate anyway), shotguns, fire detectors, ...

I haven't gotten any security system telemarketing calls, but I also enjoy messing with their minds. I'll let them finish selling me on whatever they are selling and then tell them "That sounds great!, I'll check with my bankruptcy attorney and see if I can use my credit card for that" That usually gets me off the call list for quite a while.

Since those callers don't make a lot of money, I don't waste their time. I hang up as soon as I realize who they are, so they can get on to a more profitable call.

When I was in college I would say such far-fetched things and refer them to "my people" who handles such issues who would then transfer them back to me and so on. I'd get kinda exaggerate my Texas accent to sound almost cartoony and say stupid catch phrases.
One guy enjoyed it so much he called back routinely and I'd here people in the background laughing on his end of the line. So it may be wasting people's time but at the same time its probably refreshing for others.

Sounds like all parties involved were having some fun.
