Idiocy at its best. The liberals have injected all of this paranoia and it is up to We The People to prove it wrong

2 points.
It was a ridiculous action to a simple problem, it could have been solved on the spot by saying "Look, how cute a Frozen Princess Bubble MACHINE" "Sweety, we are going to hold on to your "Frozen Princess Bubble MACHINE" until its time to go home.

2nd point.... What parent in today's current over the top zero tolerance, non critical thinking county of liberal educators(and I use THAT term loosely for many, not most, and not all, but many of today's "educators") What parents thought thier kid bringing a toy, no matter the background that is marketed as a "gun" to school was a good idea....

That was a parental fail if the parent had prior knowledge or should have assumed the child was likely to take the toy to school and did not confirm it was still in the house before the child went to school. Children being children are apt to disobey and sneak a new favorite toy to how off to friends..

I agree the policy is sti[id, well beyond stupid and yes like many of you, I too have taken actual guns to school growing up, and not once was it an issue...Nevertheless, that is not the world we live in, and while we work on changing it, we have to acknowledge it is what it is and work within the boundaries.

I guess if they have a technical school and teach auto body repair, the students have to use spray cans to paint since a spray 'gun' wouldn't be allowed in school. SMH

"Zero Tolerance" was created by people that have "Zero Sense." Because they are so inept and incapable of rational thought that need to have "absolutes", this way they don't have to ever your reason or logic to make a decision.

Or a staple/brad/nail gun in the wood shop! Until people with common sense show up in greater numbers to vote the imbeciles out it will not change.

The cure for this nonsense, and a great many other maladies inflicted by public schools, is to close them, fire the teachers, sell the properties and give the parents of each school age child a voucher to spend as they see fit, on academic schools, trade schools, parochial school, offered by private organizations, letting Mr. Market's invisible hand work its magic.

It answers all the questions, solves all the problems, except one...... how to handle Friday night football.

My sons played LL baseball for years, and "Club" wrestling when we were in Alaska.
If there was no public school football, there would be an emergence of a "Youth Football League"

Public school sports programs are anything but free for parents now... A League, and teams that had student "fees" and facility sponsors plus donations and fundraisers as they do now in public school would work out just fine.

Have you lived in Texas long enough to understand the enormous cultural and civic importance that high school football has here? Messing with that has grave ramifications for our very way of life.

Hate to be the maintenance guy there. Must have to clean everything with a bucket and rag. Cleaners come in spray bottles and those look like guns too.....

"Importance" that has been cultivated and attached to it...a perceived "importance."
It's a game.
But I know what you're getting at.

Do you really need an answer to that question?
