Weird, yes. But it also appears to be another wonderfully investigated and reported story by the local media.
Probably works well for folks who get their news from the twitterverse's.

The first part sounds typical. The second part with the other customer offering a ride is odd. Was he trying to help the guy and keep him from being arrested?
