Anyone with 1911 compensator knowledge...

Ok guys and gals, I have a 1911 with a bushing comp. And before I get started, I didn't buy the compensator for recoil purposes. I had a look in mind when I bought this gun and that is why it has a comp. I know barrel bushing comps don't really work all that well, if at all. Again, not why I purchased it.
That being said, when I go to the range with this gun, I usually shoot no less than 300 rounds through it. Usually more. The last time I went to the range, we put close to 700 rounds through the gun. When I went to clean it that night, there was a ton of black residue in the comp. And this stuff would not come off. I tried everything I could think of and even left the comp sitting in cleaner over night to try and loosen it. Well, that didn't work. A wire brush wouldn't even make the stuff budge after soaking all night. I finally wrapped some scotch-brite around a reamer and was able to get some of it out that way. But not all of it.
So, do any of y'all have any ideas of a cleaner that might work to loosen that stuff? Or any other ideas of how to make it easier to remove that residue in the future?
For reference, I used Gunzilla to soak it in.
Thanks in advance!
