guns, firearms, knives or swords with blades over four inches in length, explosives, and any chemical whose purpose is to cause harm to another person. Regardless of whether an employee possesses a concealed weapons permit or is allowed by law to possess a firearm, all weapons are prohibited on any company property or in any location in which the employee represents the company for business purposes (exclusions listed above).

Now if your employee handbook does contain the 06/07 verbage you would be in violation as you have received notice if you signed the acknowledgement form as many required you to do. If it's not absolutely made clear by properly posted signage or effective notice given the only thing I would be worried about is losing my job if discovered.

It's also good to know ahead of time what type of facility you are visiting and what security procedure are used, such as entering a plant with metal detectors, so you can plan accordingly.
