AR15 guys... need your help

Hello AR15 gurus... I bought an AR15 a few years back and I have decided that I want to add a front pistol grip. It currently has a 7" Viking Tactics Alpha rail on it. I bought this gun from a dealer who built the rifle for himself so therefore I didn't get any of the rail attachments that originally come with the rail.

I have never done any modding to an AR before so that's why I'm asking y'all. From the research I've gathered, I believe the VTAC alpha rail uses MLOK attachments, correct?

And MLOK style attachments do not require you to remove the whole rail, front sight block, gas tube etc...correct?

I want to make sure I order the correct stuff.

Thanks in advance for any help y'all can give me.

Based on VTAC's site, they offer MLOK accessories to interface with the alpha rail. It looks like you can either use a direct MLOK unit, or add a pic rail and do whatever vertical foregrip that you want.

As an aside, and you did not ask, but vertical grips are sooooo 2007. We have even gotten past the Magpul Angled Foregrip thing... and have now moved on to just c-clamping with a straight arm. Works great, requires no additional parts.

The M-lok attachments do not require you to remove the rail.

Thanks fellas. That's what I thought but just wanted some reassurance.

And it may be a 2007 thing... but I'm going with what is most comfortable to me. After shooting with my buddies AR that has a front pistol grip, it is much more comfortable to me than the C-clamp method.

I like the angled grip myself, but there is definitely room for a smooth forearm.

I like the looks and ergonomics of an Angled Fore Grip myself. Never took to the fixed vertical types. The AFGs come in different sizes and some have changeable inserts as well.

Depends on how you are using the gun. Straight arm c clamping will severely limit your ability to maneuver in close quarters.
