AR Pistol Suggestions

I am currently building a 300BO AR Pistol with the intention of getting the stamp to SBR and suppress it, hopefully, in the near future. It will mostly be a truck gun as I travel around the country-side a lot in my job. I have a 5.56 20" rifle I use for coyotes and longer range work.
I was considering building my wife a bare-bones slick-side .223 Wylde 16" carbine for her truck but then I remembered that pesky 1000' GFZ around her educational institute. That got me to thinking about building her an AR pistol on the extra 5.56/2.223 lower I have. An AR pistol, along with her LTC, makes it OK in a GFZ. This is really to be a truck/get home gun so it will be pretty utilitarian.
Now the dilemma is what caliber, .233/5.56 or 300BO? She has no opinion of either.
On one hand I lean towards the .223/5.56 for just simplicity, if any. Then again, I shy away from it due to the muzzle flash/blast out of a short barrel.
The 300 is appealing for a tamer muzzle flash/blast and the remote possibility I suppress it in the future.
Ammo availability is not an issue as I am set up to reload.
Neither seem to have a significant weight or recoil savings. It is not likely to be used at ranges over 100 or so yards. I'm very tempted to go with the 300 for the ability to shoot subs or supers and the, albeit remote, ability to suppress it in the future. It also makes reloading a lot simpler.
I know a few of you have been working up 300 BO pistol so I'd appreciate any input or experiences you might share or enlightenment to my folly.
