Confiscated Glock, and a birthday present...

Hello all,

For quite a while now, my wife has been referring to my Glock 26 as "our" Glock, and here lately she has pretty much decided that it is "her" Glock (not to worry -- I do have visitation rights). She knew that I've been looking at the HK P7's lately, and this evening she handed a small but heavy box to me and said "Happy Birthday!". Below is what she purchased for me. It is the first firearm she has ever purchased.

As I'm typing this, she is in the other room practicing with the grip cocking. She's not getting this one however, especially since she is getting quite good with the G26 anyway.

Just one of the many reasons why I married her.....

Such as this shows that you are a very good judge of women & she knows how to pick an appreciative husband.
I believe she is a keeper. Good yrs ahead to you both.

Awesome Phil.....My wife purchased three of my favorite firearms for me.....one of them was a reward to stop dipping snuff...it is the only gun so far that might have saved my life. That was over two years ago....still have the gun and my lip

Enjoy the gun and the memories surrounding it.

You and El Gato are going to become really good friends!

He has a friend who let him borrow one and we had a ball shooting that little popper!

We tacked up some balloons up on a back board and had some fun races to see who could get the most...And we traded around that P7 to see how well that things shot...

After you get used to the idea, it really was a no brainer to work with...

Without really thinking about it, it gets you back to basics on how you meld with a firearm and how to bring it all together in a package to be accurate...I wish I had more time to shoot one to really nail down why it worked so well...Maybe it was just me... ;-)

Yup -- bought at Burditt's. Do you work there?

Nice weapon!

I know my wife will never purchase a gun for me. She seems to think we own too many guns already. She has her Bersa 380. I have a Mossberg 590 pump, a M&P 9mm compact and a S&W 642.

Personally, I believe that there is always room for another gun.

I will say this about my guns. None have seen the light of day since I got the 642. It has become my daily carry. I'm almost never with out it.

Can you still buy these new? I never see them at gun shows or shops, but according to H&K's website, it's still available. I also never see MP5's available. The last one I saw was $2500 (semi-auto). I didn't have that kind of money back then though

Your wife DEFINITELY upgraded your carry gun. In my opinion, the P7 is the finest handgun in the world. Glocks have their place too, but it is certainly not close to the P7. Congrats!!!

Mine is the older "PSP" version, which is no longer made. The new versions are called P7M8, and have a few slight changes. You can find the M8's new, but from what I've read, HK has even stopped making these as well. New P7M8's generally run over $1300.

It is quite easy to find older P7's on the online auction sites. You can also order them from CDNN Investments, which seems to have some of the best prices.
