An aside: Hillary speaking live in Charlotte at the VFW now. Cumulative, about 4 seconds of half-hearted applause...even after the points that were clearly designed for rousing applause. If it were anyone else--someone not living in a fantasy world--this would let a puff or two of air out of her sails before the start of the convention tonight.

I can't believe that she would even schedule a speech at a VFW, with BHO's abysmal record on veteran's affairs, and her stance on carrying on his legacy, I would avoid places like that. She better not be relying on them to carry the vote in November.

I can't even begin to pretend to understand the campaign strategy. Maybe a VFW visit was considered mandatory, and they decided to "bury" it on the day when the convention would begin just hours later...maybe hoping that the media would stay focused on Philadelphia. I can guarantee one thing, though: if Hillary's campaign uses any footage from the speech, it will be highly selective and only a few seconds long...and even at that, they'll probably need to do some audio editing to boost the volume of the applause.

I didn't know she was speaking in Charlotte. I just happened to catch a part of it on Fox. If someone posts it on YouTube, I'd love to snag it. There was at least one segment where Hillary hit an obvious crescendo set-piece--volume up 50%, display of passion up 100%--ending emphatically with a pause expectant of applause, maybe a standing ovation. The response from the audience of veterans? Crickets...

Priceless.

Last Hillary and video tangent; promise. I've looked on YouTube for the 60 Minutes segment that aired last night, but so far have found only a portion of the piece I wanted...a portion that left out a critical Q&A that made it worthy of a Saturday Night Live Weekend News parody.

Pelley asks what she thought of the audience breaking out into a chant of, "Lock her up; lock her up," at the Republican convention during Trump's speech. She responded that she, obviously, "did not watch it." In the very next breath, she dives into detailed criticism of the content of Trump's speech characterizing it as dark, threatening, dangerous, lacking optimism, and unpresidential.

So, just a minute. If you didn't watch Trump's speech...
