last week my wife and I were visiting few day cares and on our way out the guy out of the blue asked me about campus carry.
i was caught by surprise as that was random to me to start a conversation about campus carry on our way out. i figured that i was printing and carrying. i just got caught by surprise and random question. i am new to CHL and this is my first for anyone to notice. is this normal? i thought i wasn't printing much if any but i guess he new otherwise he wouldn't started a gun talk .

Well, you could certainly check yourself in the mirror before heading out.

I wouldn't worry about it. Unless your gun was actually exposed, most people are pretty clueless about who is carrying concealed and who isn't. It simply isn't on their radar, and because they're not in the habit of carrying, their situational awareness and attention to details about others is notoriously absent. The person most likely to notice your concealed firearm will either be a cop, another CHL/LTC, or possibly a bad guy. So, unless you were printing so badly that the other guy could read the rollmarks on your gun's slide, in all likelihood he himself has a CHL and is in the habit of checking out the waistlines of people who are wearing untucked shirts for unobtrusive bulges that might indicate the other person is carrying.

Another advantage of open carry is that the attention of antis is focused on openly carried guns. If you're carrying concealed, they're that much less likely to notice it.

i always check how i print before i leave the house and i didn't think i was printing THAT bad, he's most likely to be another CHL holder as this guy was running the daycare with his wife ( home based). and i doubt he's a bad guy cause if your running a day care then you have to go through background check. anyways, just thought it was random and it made me more conscious about my printing.

am not worried about it much but wanted to share my newbie experience hahah. for a split second i thought i was in 'trouble' and was gonna be kicked out ( we were leaving anyways).

I agree, he was most likely a LEO/former LEO, or another LTC holder. I have noticed others CC before, but I may be more SA than others and I am a former LEO. Another clue may have been your attire, if you were wearing any pro gun/2A slogans on your shirt, hat, etc. Maybe even one of those racist Gasden flags somewhere.
That being said, concealed is concealed, so carry on, don't worry too much about printing, I would venture to say that 99% of people will never notice, especially when only a small percentage even notice when I OC.

yeah its no problem at all with me, just sharing some thoughts on my experience. i was wearing a polo shirt and didn't have anything say hey i am a gun person lol. i am thinking the first time we visited i had my tucked in dress shirt as i was visiting after work and that may have printed more than the second visit.

I recently purchased a Sneaky Pete holster - so far no one who has seen it and asked has correctly guessed what it is.

Maybe you had a holster clip showing.

I did on my first visit as i had my dress shirt tucked in and my clip would have shown. The second visit ( when this conversation happened) i had a polo and had my shirt on top of my firearm and no belt was showing.

I had a similar experience at church one time. Someone asked me some obvious gun question just out of the blue, and I guess I gave him a funny look. He said when I leaned over a table while cleaning and putting things away, my shirt had pulled taut enough for it to print clearly. Otherwise he said he would have had no idea. We had a laugh and I answered his question and we talked a while.

If it wasn't, I wouldn't be able to tolerate that particular brand of impudence.

Off topic -and speaking of churches. My church doesn't' have a policy in our bulletin or any kind of discussion on carrying ( small church). of course there's no postage either. my question , if i am visiting other churches and don't see a signage, is it OK to carry? i remember in my LTC class , our instructor said if the church doesn't have info on bulletin and no signage you are OK. in this case there's no signage when i visited this other church but i wouldn't know about their bulletin. should i carry if there is no signage typically?

Legally you are within your right if the Church is not posted. So if you feel comfortable carrying in church, go for it.

More like "what's that for?" People I don't know get a stare and "it's personal", friends and family "take a guess".

I've been carrying concealed almost daily since mid-October last year. Have not gotten a single question about my concealed carry. I've noticed a few people giving me a look at times, usually when I've been bending or stretching to put my kid in his car seat or something like that. Recently upgraded my daily carry from a Taurus TCP380 to a Sig P239. It's bigger than the Taurus, but still relatively small, so we'll see if it draws any more eyeballs.
