I spent yesterday at the FGC indoor rifle range.
Observations:
1) 4 Daniel Defense ARs in 556 and 308, showed up in 4 hrs. All shot extremely well. 1 had a heavy 16" long barrel and shot extremely well. Triggers are excellent on those rifles. I am impressed with build quality.
2) 1 DPMS with heavy barrel had like bolt actions accuracy 1/2 MOA or better. A Chinese young kid was shooting it with cheapo 3-9x optics.
3) All nice rifles cost more than $2K had cheapo 300-400 scopes. Rendering them very challenging to shoot let alone zero.

It was fun day for me. Even when I was asked to get off the lane after shooting 6-rds and go back on the waiting list. I had fun helping all novice shooters. I got back the lane 3hrs later. 2 lanes were down out of 4.

6 hours is one long session. You got asked to move off the lane after that few rounds ? Are you a member there?

I was at DFW Gun range. Picked up a new Glock 43 Talo with night sights and a Springfield XDm OSP with the Vortex Venom optic. Put about 300 rounds downrange, was there less than 2 hours and called it a day!

I really liked the G43, YMMV, but for me it was a far better 9mm sub-compact firearm than either my Kahr PM or my Kimber Solo, although the Solo is still the smallest and most concealable.

As for the SPRINGFIELD, I am already a huge XDm fan, the optic takes some getting used to but at close range its a tack driver and farther out my groupings remained closer than with standard sights. Only drawback is it is not a reflex optic and so it requires a battery, and the standard sights are too low to co-witness (vs. suppressor sights).

For a bit more money than that Venom, you could have a Trijicon dual-illuminated RMR. They use fiber optics to light up the dot. When it gets too dark for that, the tritium takes over. Best of all - no batteries.

Yep, love the Trijicon but it is more than twice the MSRP of the Vortex. Have one on my FNX 45 Tactical.
