Sitting here watching a little TV, and notice (again) on a random commercial they are showing a person doing some routine task using what would normally be done with their dominate hand. The person doing the task in the commercial is doing it left-handed, but from their awkwardness it is quite obvious that the person is NOT left-handed. I've noticed this quite often in commercials over the years. Why do they do that???

Because they want to give equal time to lefties?

The must be inclusive of the "differently handed". There is too much right-handism on TV as it is. Lefties need more positive role models on television. Too many pale righties don't celebrate diversity and inclusiveness enough...

Good point. We've all got to hand it to you.

These commercial producers are discriminating on the basis of handedness and it is unfair. Lefties need work, too. If you are going to try to cozy up to lefties with your commercials, pretending to be inclusive and fair, you ought to at least hire lefties to appear in them.

i HAVE NOTICED FOR QUITE A long time that picures of folks shooting shotguns, rifles, pistols that more than 50 are left handed.

As a lefty, I appreciate not being left out and being disenfranchised. However, there are some times when I identify with the righties and do certain things right handed. Its my right to be what I want twhen I want.

Most left handed people I know, including my wife , are ambidextrous, or at least much better with their right hand then I'm with my left.
Everytime I try to do anything with my left I look like a doofus. One time we were eating lunch with family and my wife sat next to me, well we kept bumping elbows and I thought I'd try to eat with my left. Well, that didn't go well..

What are you lefties complaining about? You guys always had the hamburger helper hand.

Ever since my son was a baby he has used both hands. He even writes with both of them. Watching him encouraged me to use my left a whole lot more over the years. I can pretty much use my left as well as I use my right for everything except writing and throwing a football.

Ever see a guy throw a football with his non dominant hand?

Co-opting is pathetic! A righty can NEVER identify as a lefty!

And since the brain is "cross-wired", only left-handed people are in their right mind.
