Vet owned company out of Austin. Looks interesting but I'd like to see it in person just to insure nothing can be seen from the window. $50

Interesting idea. It doesn't look like it would be very well concealed once you are out of the vehicle. Probably one of those situations where you want to keep a towel or T-shirt handy. The website also only lists compact and sub-compact for sizes, so no full size dedicated car guns.
I actually just ordered the set-up from Aliengear that was mentioned in another thread. OWB paddle holster and car mount for around $68 I believe, so a little more than this option, but you also get a holster that is easy to remove and replace in the mount.

From the topic title, I got this mental picture of a child's car seat with an attached holster so your toddler could back you up if someone tried to carjack you!
I guess I'm just a little off in the head.
LOL

Nope, not just you. I had same thought at first too!

I wouldn't be concerned about it being visible when I'm out of the car, because if I'm out of the car the gun is going with me or it's going inside of a locked box.
Only time I'd be concerned would be if pulled over by LEO because it could be considered open carry not in a belt or shoulder holster.
Otherwise, there are lots of options to cover it. Simple way for me would be to put a towel on my seat that hangs over the edge. I'm not concerned about my car looking junky, because my car already looks junky.
This would definitely make my weapon more accessible for me when driving as opposed in a box under the seat, or even more accessible than IWB while seated.

I want to know how you like that Alien Gear paddle holster. I'm seriously considering getting one, but I'm concerned that I won't like it as much as IWB, due to it not being so close to my body... So I want a review when you get to try it out.

x3
My concern is that it doesn't look like it is secure enough from an accident or hard braking. It appears like it is just a nylon holster that it is sitting in without even a strap to keep it in the holster.

The way that I read the law about carrying in the car was that it had to be in a shoulder or belt holster, on or about your person. Unfortunately this car seat holster mentioned is neither of those.
I went with the Highway Holster. It attaches to the seat belt buckle with velcro and fits in-between the seat and center console. It is simply a mount, on which a clippable belt holster attaches to. I can put the holster inside my waistband and it will clip to my belt (I don't want to, but it still counts). My right leg covers it when I am driving, and hides enough that I don't worry about it when I leave my car (gun in lockbox or on me).
I feel this designation passes the holster on our about your person law. There's been a few other threads on here since open carry passed and I feel like the law has loosened up on car carry because of open carry.

If you are open carrying in the car under your LTC it would have to be in a shoulder or belt holster. This seat holster would be carrying under the Motorist Protection Act so as long as it's anywhere in the car and is concealed you're covered, no license required.
What "on or about" is, is still debated. According to the DPS instructors the holster must be worn. I think their view is that a holster is not a belt holster unless it's actually on a belt.

I posted a review with video on the "alien gear mount" topic. Check it out, I like it!

</scratches head ...>
Open carrying inside car under LTC ... Is a holster fitted/attached to/on a *SeatBelt with shoulder strap* a "belt holster" or a "shoulder holster" ... or both?
I have belt slide holsters with snaps that could snap onto a seatbelt or shoulder strap

I was also picturing a child's car seat and wondering why the heck would anyone want a gun that close to a toddler?
