I will take nothing away from him. He did a great job. His clean up speed on climb out was 200 Knots and he allows his speed to get to get to 170 KIAS before he extends any flaps. He then lands at 125 KIAS. I am trying to remember my aircraft systems, (I retired 11 years ago from Delta), but I do remember on the big Boeing jets you needed to keep your speed above a certain amount to keep hydraulics to the flight controls. There is a video of a 767 landing in the water just off the beach and he rolls in just prior to touchdown. It did not turn out too well:
