That looks
sweet, even considering the fact that you'll need to replace the handguards.

I was just going to post this! In another thread I had posted about Remington's new RP-9 pistol, someone had commented about Remington's being a late to the game of copy-cat polymer-framed, striker-fired handguns. I had said, so what, S&W and Springfield were too and nobody gave a hoot.......and I had also opined that Springfield's "newest" battle rifle design was a pre/early-Vietnam war era rifle. LOL
Not being particularly well connected to the firearms design community, I had gotten all the hoopla marketing emails about the impending "Saint", but no description of what it was to be. Today, we found out. ANOTHER AR-15!!!! Will the wonders of innovation never cease?
If it is being
built by Bravo Company
for Springfield, it should be a fine rifle........the caveat being my sincerest hope that Bravo Company's typically excellent quality control doesn't fall to the exigencies of mass production to meet the SA contract.

SIGM400 clone at the 20% discount. Not bad, the front handle is Keymod compatible so you can add as many rails as you want. If it shoots well, it is winner. Not sure about the trigger, but I replaced the on my SIGM400.

The handguard melted after 8 magazines? Is that what you call an "epic fail" by Springfield? My enthusiasm dropped considerably after reading the review - nagging thought: if the handguard melts that easy, what else is going to fail?

Meh. Springfield is about a decade too late, and you can build better for cheaper.
