there is a gun show in Pasadena this weekend. Usually how many booths are there? Just wondering if its worth it.

There's one just about every weekend either a High Caliber or Premier. The hall usually has a good number of tables and vendors. Premier advertises 300 tables which is a lot. I don't know what 300 tables looks like, I've never counted. The show this weekend is a High Caliber. It's been over a year since I attended, but Wild Bill attended one there a few weeks ago maybe he'll chime in.

Pumaguy is confused. I bought a gun a couple weeks ago, but not at the gun show.

It has been a long time since I have been to a gun show at Pasadena so I can't comment on recent shows.
As with most gun shows, they vary month to month with the type and number of booths that they have.
I don't know the current entrance fee, I think I paid $8.

Most of the times I didn't buy anything I think Sometimes some reloading supplies or hard to find ammo.
I have only bought one gun at a gun show.That was a lucky find.

I tend to look at gun shows as entertainment, like going to a movie. Buy the ticket and hope it's a good show
that is worth $8 and two hours of your time.

I think the confusion was that last time we met at the South Quadrant Breakfast I told him a story about meeting the VP of High Standard at a High Caliber Gun Show
in Pasadena. At one of the booths there was a vendor who had a lot of vintage semi-automatic pistols. Since I have a couple of the older pistols I talked with him for a little while.

I told pumaguy that he had recommended Marvel Mystery Oil to clean and lubricate pistol magazines. The VP told me that they have used at High Standard for many years.
He said that was the only thing that they use on their magazines. Since that time is what I use. He also gave me a couple of hints about "tweaking" their newer magazines
to make sure that they were reliable to feed ammo on the older guns.

I go looking for deals on used guns, especially from individuals walking around. However it is crowded, very crowded. They cram it pretty tight.

It is not as big as the ones at Reliant or Brown, but it fills the building with old, new and private sale guns and accessories. I am planning to take my grandson Sat. as the High Caliber is usually the better gun show held at that location.

Costs $10-$15 at GRB or NRG

On top of the $8 fee to get in

So for that reason Pasadena is better than the others

High Caliber usually has better pricing than the Premier or others
So if you want to hit a good one, HC is the way to go

I think I'm going to wait and hit up the HC gun show after Christmas. I went last year around January and seemed like the prices and deals were better then any of the other shows I went to the rest of the year.

Went today. Was a lot smaller than I had pictured in my mind. Probably wouldn't do it again.

I almost always leave with a bag or two of roasted nuts and maybe some jerky,

Yes, the same with me. I have heard some people describe a poor show as the "beef jerky and sausage show."
