There was a thread this past Summer about 30.06 sign posted in Denton County offices, but I think it was referring to a precinct office in city of Denton. Today I went to pay my property tax at the Denton County Government Center in Lewisville. This is a multi-use building with the tax office and a number of other offices, including the JP Court for Denton County Precinct 3 and the Precinct 3 County Commissioner's office.

There is a 30.06 & 30.07 sign posted in the entrance "vestibule". I walked into the entrance way doors armed, but before I proceeded into the building itself, I noticed the sign. A Constable asked me what I was looking for and I said the tax office. After she told me where it was, I walked back to my car and put up my gun. I was carrying concealed and knew it was legal to carry in the tax office, but I chose to go back to my car. This is what the "fines for signs" was supposed to address. This is a multi-use government building and the JP Court is on a different floor and separate from the tax office. If I have further business there, I will probably ignore the sign and carry anyway, but I really believe they should take it down. I'm going to file a complaint, I guess with the County Commissioners' "Court" since it's a county building. I'm a resident of Precinct 4, so I suppose, I'm not going to complain to the Precinct 3 JP or Commissioner.

Have any other Denton County or Lewisville resident Forum members, seen/complained about the sign?

My PD and City Hall are posted. Sent in to AG's office first week of May, and it is late December with nothing done.

The Mary Horne center is not posted in the city of Denton and the Crossroads County building has a sign outside the JP court, but not the entire building. Went there to renew my car tag and was pleased to see that it was no longer posted at the main entrance.

If I'm not mistaken, the 30.07 sign is valid; however, the 30.06 sign appears to have the pre-2016 verbiage; it does not meet the requirements of current law. Make sure you're concealed and legally carry on!

I was there today to go to the tax office. Either I was really in a fog or there were no signs. Based on this thread, I disarmed before I went into the building. I saw the Constable's desk but it was vacant when I entered. She was there when I left and I was going to ask her about the signs but she was wrapped up in something and I didn't want to wait.

I normally don't miss signs. I reported the Mellow Mushroom in Flower Mound to Texas3006.com for their 30.07 which would have been easy to miss.

With all of the court functions on the 2nd floor, it makes no sense to post the first floor.

On the right hand side after you enter the first set of entry doors. I had a picture in my original post. They were placards permanently attached to the wall. I doubt they removed them in the 24 hours since I was there.

The signs are still there as of this morning. The AG complaint site asks for a copy of the complaint sent to the government entity.

The building houses multiple state and county agencies. Do I have to send copies to every government entity in the building?
