There made for Cabelas.

Who here owns one and how does it compare with the Colt LE6920?

Their marketing details makes it sound far superior, but...?

They're on sale for $699.99 at Cabelas and man oh man, that sounds like a good deal, especially if the particulars about it are true...

Sounds like the primary differences are the 1:8 HBAR barrel, instead of an M4 gov't profile barrel, and the "competition" trigger. The rest is just furniture, and I'll bet that the receiver set, BCG, and other small parts are the same as the 6920. That sounds like a good price. I'd expect a LOT better than 6 lb for a "competition" trigger. My AR and SCAR's Timney's are 3 and 4 lbs respectively. I'd want to dry fire it to see if the trigger is all that it's cracked up to be, before including it in the list of upgrades. But either way, $700 for a Colt is a pretty good price....particularly for someone who doesn't already own an AR15. OTH, you could upgrade your existing Colt to a similar barrel and a Timney or Geiselle trigger for a lot less money than $700.

Barrel bore/chamber is not chrome plated, no sights, sling mounts are not typical for an AR, free float rail has a different look, not sure if you can mount accessories such a a light, etc. on it.

I have the 6920, it is a nice AR for the money. I did change the front hand guard out for a free float VTAC D rail (easy to install, don't have to remove the front site). You will have to decide if the 6920 is work the extra cost (would be for me).

Just saw TAMs post. I agree with him, if you have an AR, you may want to upgrade it or just buy a new upper and upgrade the trigger on what you have. I have a couple of LMTs and the Colt. I recently purchased an Aero Precision to see if they are as advertised. It is and well worth the money. You could buy a new barrel or upper from them, they guarantee minute of angle accuracy and they have a finish that is superior to chrome plating on the bore/chamber.

If you are concerned about accuracy problems with the AR you have, try some IMI 77 grain ammo (duplicates the 262 Mod 1 load and it shoots better in my rifles than the similar Black Hills ammo). Best price I have found is at SGAmmo. I have shot groups as small as .4 inches at 100 yards (10X scope). It may just be the ammo you have been using. I have found that Lake City ammo shots 2-3 inches at 100 yards in my ARs. I can load 55 grain ammo that shoots better but nothing I have found is as good as the IMI ammo (I can't load ammo as good as that stuff).
