Husqvarna vs. Oregon Chain Saw Bar

I have a Husqvarna mdl. 340 chain saw with an 18" bar.
I looked at buying a new Husqvarna brand bar, but discovered they cost approximately twice as much as an Oregon brand bar.
Does anyone here know why?
Better quality or....?

Oregon bars are some of the best. I come from logging country in Oregon and once the stock bars wear out on their saws. Most professional loggers put an Oregon bar on them.

Stihl also makes good saws. I don't think I've ever just worn out the bar. And I've also never realized that a different brand bar would fit on a saw. I guess I just assumed that each manufacturer's bar would only fit their saw.

If I'm not mistaken Oregon makes,bars for all brands of chainsaws.

That's cool. I've just never worn out a bar on a chainsaw before to need to look for a new one to know this.

I'll be buying the Oregon bar.
And yes, Stihl makes the"Rolls-Royce" of chain saws, but a Husky is a darn good one too.

I know a guy in Oregon who runs teams fighting forest fires in the summer and clearing underbrush in the winter. A few weeks ago, he and a team deployed to help with the fires in SC.
He says Stihl chainsaws don't last, but Huskys do.
I tend to give a lot of credence to what he says.
Here's a quote from him on another board:
My 10 man thinning crew went through 6 (Stihl) ms362's in two winters.....the crew used to always run the fire fighting saws in the winter for thinning units ....the firefighting saws are Huskies.
But they are kids and remember their logging elders all running Stihl so they asked and whined at me enough times and we got a fed grant so I ok'd the Stihls because they are a good crew, hard crew.
In the 4 years prior we had to only replace bars and a few usual parts that wear on all saws used by forest workers. The Huskies would do fire season then turn around and run 40 hours a week by 20 something's all competing to be Bull of the Woods

The old poulans where good saws too. Another thing I regret getting rid of when I moved to houston from the west coast

Maybe the old guys take better care of their stuff than the kids do.
