I get sick of Brits lecturing and criticizing the USA. I also can't stand their slanted reporting and opinion columns.

Along with 99% of the US "entertainment industry (movies, tv, music, professional sports)" I don't care what Britain, France, Germany's media and politicians write/say about the United States. They are all socialists who are on board with globalist agenda.

Hating the Brits is sn over reaction, but they're pretty silly on this issue.

Actually, it would be great if the article were right about liberals taking an interest in guns. The best protection the Second Amendment could have would be both sides wanting to protect it. But what I'd like and what I'd bet on are different. My money's on tbe Lefties continuing their anti-gun campaign.

The issue of the Brit media being obsessed with what is going on in the US and thinking that their opinions from the other side of the pond are in any way relevant or that Americans even care what they think is something my wife and I discuss often. Although it is the country of my birth and I lived most of my life there, it is an attitude I find difficult to understand. Of course they do not only get opinionated about the US. The UK media likes to share it's strong critical views on the French, the Germans, the Italians etc etc except of course on different topics.

One Idea that my wife suggested is that because the UK is such a pacified society, with no dangerous wildlife and unextreme weather, the media is constantly looking to overseas stories for a bit of excitement.

Since I left the country nearly 4 years ago I have not felt a moments "home sickness" I have no particular desire to return anytime soon. Furthermore I will not be surprised that if I do visit there in a few years time I am sure that I will feel like a foreigner.

P.S. Remember it was the electoral dominance of the Urban vote that enable Tony Blair's politically correct government to push through the law to ban fox hunting. A classic example of what happens when the Urban Masses can dictate social change to the rest of the country. It was nice to see that movement has failed over here at least for now.

Let's see, we beat them twice in war and bailed them out twice in 2 more. Why should we care what they say about us?

I really don't think anything has changed. What is that saying, history always repeats itself. ?

The Brits will always be Brits, the Russians always Russians, Germans always Germans and the French always French, unless of course some may become nation(s) of radical immigrants and the historical cultures are totally crushed (exception: I don't think the Russians will let that happen).

I think this Brit article may fall under the heading of, "What's it to You"?

I love the Brits and their beautiful land, but their politics and views in general, meh...

Gwendolyn Patton, of the Pink Pistols, a club for for gay, lesbian and transgender gun owners, says new members fear being "harassed by the gun nuts at the range".

But she says they are mostly "welcomed with open arms by the shooting community".

This is one thing they got right -- I don't care who you are, if you are a lawful citizen and like guns, then we have common ground and we can have a good time shooting paper, having matches, or just talking about our next accessory or firearm purchase. People at the gun counter of Academy, Gander, or your local mom and pop gun shop, along with every single person I've ever met at a gun range or gun show, are among the nicest, well tempered, friendliest people I've ever met. My wife, who is still a little weary of my hobby, has even told me "You know, you're right. The people over in the hunting/shooting sections are always really nice and polite." (This day, I literally did )

I'll shoot all day long with a member of the Pink Pistols, and gladly and emphatically support their cause.

If a someone asks me to help them learn about or how to shoot guns, and they're not leftists, I'd be glad to help.

Their being gay or something other wouldn't cause me indigestion. I'd gladly help, but not if they're American commie/socialist types. Those cretins I wouldn't help.

I'd be willing to help them as well, as long as they understand that I as an American who is libertarian/conservative am not their enemy.

Of course there are going to be differing opinions across the political spectrum, but as far as supporting a group who encourages a minority population to embrace the 2nd Amendment, and take their safety and self protection into their own hands, I will support that.
