.22 jam issue

I've got an old Sterling Arms .22LR semi-auto pocket pistol. It will jam quite often. I've tried different brands and I've found that CCI's will reduce jams but not entirely. I believe the problem is the power of some rounds over others. What is the most powerful .22LR brand? I would like to test my theory..Thanks!

The CCI Stingers are the hottest I know of.

I would disassemble the gun completely and scrub it real good. The only reason my .22 jams consistently is if it's got lead fouling that's affecting the extraction of the rounds. I tend to get a lot of stovepipes when that happens, and they tend to get stuck in the chamber if I get a dud round and use the charge lever to extract them. Cleaning the gun thoroughly fixes this problem.

I used to buy some very hot match grade .22 ammo that I believe was made in Belgium and imported by Federal? I haven't seen it in a long time, but I have not looked either. I got it from Ron's Guns in Shreveport. It has been a few years and back then I could still get Samson .44 from Ron's. Packina40 may chime in since he lives in Shreveport.
