SWMBO has laid down the law!

I am now required to go to the range once a month and I must take one other with me (her or one of our two grandkids that live with us) to teach.

During the discussion I explained that ammo would be the biggest expense, so she asked if reloading would save money. When I confirmed it would, she added the requirement that I get my equipment set up and start reloading.

Don't you guys feel sorry for me now?

That's tough! But I'm sure you'll be able to bring yourself to comply!

I think I am married to her sister. She loves to shoot, carries and encourages reloading. :cheers2:

Enroll yourself in 12-steps program. You are hooked and bankrupt for life. Yeah, you may start saving money after 20 yrs of reloading.... Ooops :evil2: :evil2: you will never ever save money by reloading. "rlol" "rlol" "rlol"

Pawpaw, it sounds like you have it rough. I hope you can struggle through with all of the requirements you have been instructed to follow.
Sometimes we just have to go along to get along. Try to look on the positive side as much as you can and remember, we all feel your pain.

Interesting...

Any clue as to what caused these demands upon your time and energy?

Well, I let her read this thread in the hopes it might soften her heart. ;-) Instead, she shrieked in delight, thoroughly enjoying what you guys posted.

I already have some reloading gear I bought from a forum member several years ago, but have never used. I have a Lee Classic Turret press and a Lee Load-All for shotgun. I'll have to inventory all the dies and assorted gear to see what I'll have to buy, other than components.

I'm thinking of taking a piece of thick plywood that I can clamp onto my work bench and mount the presses to that, one at a time. Has anyone tried that?

Well done, PawPaw

Yes, a 3/4" plywood base and clamps will work but will be a compromise. You can beef up a temp mount to make it work...but this is a good case to buy a QC plate set up. (especially since you have a few pieces of equipment.)

Not sure what your budget is but for quick change mounts and a really great set up on a limited space or multi use bench, check out inline fabrication: They have plates for any press and some great stuff. They have good storage brackets for them as well so you can wall mount or hang on the side/back of a bench, etc.

THey also have flush mounts
