Rappers mistaken for robbers

In Houston Chronicle Jan. 4 reported that two rappers were making a music video near a credit union in Lake Jackson, TX. They were displaying real guns and fake money bags. They apparently didn't notify anyone in law enforcement. My thoughts:
1) why wouldn't they notify someone in authority that they would be outside a bank looking like they were robbing it?
2) they used real guns but author (sym)pathetically noted the guns were not loaded
3) the article states the cops did the "right thing" by not shooting - tone of article compliments cops for not doing anything "bad"
4) apparently they were not cited nor charged with some other penalty for what should have been some sort of brandishing given the facts
