Did not hear about this from any news source, but rather from the person involved.

Victim walked out of WalMart around 10:30pm, was approached by a man who asked him for help jump starting his car. Victim agreed and as they were walking to his car the perpetrator told the victim "I have a gun, get in your car and drive me to where I tell you."

Long story short, the victim was made to drive his abductor around to various location to conduct drug deals for hours. Around 3am they pulled into a convenience store parking lot, the abductor got out of the victim's car, into another car that was waiting and it drove away. A police car happened to be there and saw the victim and came over to ask if he was okay. The victim explained what had happened, the LEO was skeptical until they went back to Walmart and reviewed the security camera footage which collaborated the victim's story. Fortunately the victim was unharmed and only had $20 stolen from his wallet.

If this is not a scary enough scenario, the evening of the day she found out about this incident, she went Walmart in south Arlington after work. As she was leaving Walmart a couple approached her and started to ask her if she could help them. She quickly said no and they walked away.

It's sad that we are in a time that you can't even stop to help your fellow man without having to look over your shoulder. I'm glad no one was hurt but stuff like this has got to stop. I hope the LE that spoke with the person who was kidnapped finds this criminal.

Carry, often.
