Springfield Operator TRP

Picking it up tomorrow, slightly used but looks to be in great shape.

I was looking for something in the 1911 range that wouldn't brake the bank, be reliable (sorry, I'm a Glock guy), and not too fancy to occasionally carry (my Gold Cup is way to pretty).

Anyone has and carries one? Your thoughts?

I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I carry a MC Operator and a Champion. Love them both. Springfield makes a fine weapon.

I have a Springfield Champion that their custom shop did a little bit of work on, and I love it. I'm considering one of the new 4" EMP carry models in 9mm.

Yeah, it's just a plain ol' TRP. We define "fancy" differently but I must say- you picked a fine example!! :cheers2:

Finally got it home, and took some pictures. Only thing I've added is TLR1 light.

Next stop, range...as soon as it dries up a little.

A TRP with a TLR that's too many initials for me to digest all at once!! :biggrinjester:

Seriously, congrats that's a good looking gun.

I love my TRP so much that sadly it's become a safe queen. While my 10mm Sig P220R SAO is pretty with its Kryptek camo, there's just a refined elegance about the TRP.

I just got email from Springfield about the new 1911 TRP Operator in Tactical Gray. Looks nice.

I decided that for once in my life, I will carry, on occasion, something other than my trusty Glock :???:

I'm looking forward to getting this one onto my hip. I'm prepared to suffer the emotional distress of watching the nice finish rub off, life's too short :thumbs2: .

Those are nice 1911's. Have a good friend who had one in the green color and it was a sweet gun. If your glock gets lonely It's more than welcome to get some range time with me :)

That's a great analogy!

Funny thing - just the other day I was actually thinking that the finish on my STI is holding up so well that it doesn't look like it gets carried much!
