GUN IN RENTAL VEHICLE

Hello, My name is Mike. Im new to the site. I just wanted to confirm if carrying while in a rental vehicle is allowed here in the great state of Tx as well? Thanks

Welcome to the Forum. You can legally carry in a rental car. If you have a carry license from Texas or a state Texas recognizes, then you can carry outside of the car also. If not, then your handgun must stay in the car, unless you are going directly to or from a location where it is legal to carry a handgun without a carry license.

Just remember to get your gun out when you turn the car in

I neglected to do that about 4-5 years ago - I wrote a post about the experience as a "what not to do" scenario

IANAL (I am not an attorney) and this is not legal advice. But the answer is yes, and one of the previous posters is an attorney and I would take his word an anything gun law related. :tiphat:

A friend of mine did this a few weeks ago, and it still trying to get his gun back from the SO. The last time he went to pick it up, they couldn't find the key to the evidence locker.
