Just wanted to share

I will be closing on 78 acres tomorrow at 4pm. I will finally have a place to hunt, shoot and fish (2 acre pond) all to myself. All less than 30 mins from my current home, work and downtown Austin.
Its been a long stressful lead up and things are going to be tight for a while but I am so looking forward to it.

p.s. if you get lonely out there, I won't mind driving down with my rifle and/or fishing pole to keep you company!!

I did the same thing with 88 acres in North Texas. ATVs, range, hunting, and a lot of work to maintain trails but love it. Mine is only 9 miles from the house. You will enjoy. Yours is much prettier but what can you expect from North Texas.

Congratulations on becoming a landowner.
I bought land about 30 minutes from where I work several years ago. One day a friend was out with me on the property and he asked, "Why haven't you move out here? What are you waiting for, old age?" That comment started an adventure that the wife and I wouldn't take back. We moved out to the land a couple of years later and haven't looked back with anything but regret on not having done it sooner.

Further comment. A tractor is nice to own (I don't have one) but we use one of those DR pull behind mowers pulled with an ATV (Polaris) to maintain trails. Don"t know if this will be an issue for you but cheaper than a tractor-bush hog combo and not hard to tow home.

Oh I will have to buy a tractor for this. Just hope I don't have to sell my motorcycle to do it :/
