LTC at public school

Went to my daughter's high school yesterday for a meeting. As part of the check-in procedure, they scan your ID into their system and it prints out a visitor tag. Without realizing it, I handed her my LTC to scan. She took it, scanned it and handed it back to me with my visitor tag without any reaction at all. Of course, my gun was left in my vehicle.
Complete nonevent.

The school secretary is so busy all she's doing is making sure the name on the card matches one of the names on the pick up card. She's trying to get rid of you as fast as she can so she can go back to that pile of work on her desk that never shrinks.
The only organization that has ever challenged my CHL as ID was a bank. Legacy Bank before the new law was passed and CHASE just last week (they actually challenged my wife but I was standing there).

Bruin98,
You posted: (they actually challenged my wife but I was standing there)
Meaning, had you not been standing there, they would have challenged your wife's LTC as I.D. or something else?
Thanks
P.S. I've used it twice for I.D. and never had it challenged. I think those who do, are simply ignorant, not malicious, at least I hope so...

How do you know what was going on and what she was trying to do?

Delta airline check-in clerk went ballistic a couple of years ago when I tried to use Texas CHL after he refused to accept my military retiree ID card. Told me he could not accept the mil ID as the expiration date said indefinite. Stated he needed another "Official Government ID with an expiration date." handed him my Texas CHL and he stated in a very loud voice "you can't have a GUN in here" and must have pressed his duress button as the next thing I know, I had an Atlanta cop on each side saying keep your hands where we can see them and where is the gun? After a short discussion with Atlanta cops (who were quite courteous), a TSA supervisor (who was not so courteous) and a Delta Supervisory Agent (who was VERRY courteous) all was well. No, I did not even have a firearm in my checked bag, just my CHL was the next ID under my Mil ID in my wallet.

The teller said she couldnt take it. My wife said she had to. Another teller nodded her head. They took the ID. I was present. That's all I meant.

I work in a school. It's an educated guess.
Pun intended.

May be a good guess for most schools.

My current office manager used to work the front desk at a middle school. It's true. Our place is pretty hectic, and she says how much she's enjoying our slow pace. :)

I just got my LTC renewal less than 2 weeks ago and I think it looks even more like a DL than the CHL did. I'd bet she and most people don't even realize the difference when checking it quickly for name and picture.

The point of the post was that she scanned the LTC in the system and she did notice or react to it being and LTC. We all know mentioning guns or showing an LTC in certain situations typically draws a reaction. When a pop tart in the shape of a gun can get a kid expelled, most would see the irony in someone being able to use an LTC as ID. Guess that isn't the case around here.
Some of you that are so literal and serious take the fun out of having a discussion. Bet you guys are real fun at a party or social event.
