With revolvers, you can store them loaded for a long time and not worry about spring fatigue in magazines. With semi-autos, if it is a carry or nightstand gun, don't you have to rotate the mags?

Ease of use. There is no safety to worry about. As I get older. I can use reduced loads in my revolver. Reduced loads wI'll not reliably function a semi auto.
Springs wear out from use. Leaving them compressed does not hurt them.

Don't get me wrong, I love revolvers. I collect military revolvers from around the world. But, springs don't fatigue due to compression. They fatigue by constant compression and decompression over time.

Take a paperclip leave it alone with out any paper in it then come back a year later. It has not changed, Take that same paper clip, put five sheets of paper in it and come back a year later it still has not changed. Take that paper clip and bend it past it's limit and it will deform. You can then take that paper clip then constantly bend it to and fro to cause it to break completely.

Take you a car's suspension. The factory springs seldom need to be replaced, even though they are under constant load. The reason is they remain within the design tolerance at all times.

Take a Semi-auto firearm magazine. The spring inside it is always under load, even when the magazine is unloaded. If the magazine and spring are designed properly then it will last longer than most people will ever need. This is why there is a material called 'Spring Steel' that is used to make springs for many different things. What is bad for a loaded magazine is storing it outside a firearm or in mag carrier that doesn't depress the top round. In this situation the top round is pressing against the feed lips of the magazine which can deform them.

You don't need to pick up the brass. When it comes to plinking I love my revolver. For carry I like a semi-auto.

They never need to be racked.

Not that there's anything wrong with revolvers. Revolver owners have all the same rights as the rest of us and should be allowed to marry one another and everything. Similarly, although I may sell ammo, I reserved the right to not sell revolver ammo.

You can get revolvers in some hefty hunting loads like .454 Casull and .500 S&W Magnum.

Starline sells the brasss for it, but I can't find any ammo for sale. There's a couple of sites that say they sell it, but none of them have stock. Midway discontinued carrying it.
