Every gun owner worth his salt should resign their memberships, any businesses involved in 2nd amendment industries should withdraw support immediately. I know it's a pipe dream for that to occur, but I can always hope.

Just went to a Rotary Sporting Clays event. I guess that will be banned too. At least they won't show a firearm on the poster. Wow.

I just texted this story to my youngest brother. He's president of his local chapter........and a gun owner. It will be interesting to see what he says.

Can't be, he said he's a gun owner

This may come as a bit of a shock but I think most, if not all, mainstream Christian denominations denounce guns in their official policies. The Rotarians are not alone in this stance.

I know the Methodist church does.

Perhaps counterintuitively, yes, he's still in California. Altadena Chapter.

But the Rotary is not a Christian "denomination", although may of its members are indeed Christian. My brother is a sort-of theist, but not a Christian.

I wasn't suggesting any religious affiliation to/of Rotary International. I was suggesting that many of us may unknowingly belong to, and perhaps support, other anti-gun groups? I dunno'.....

The United Methodist Church is more an arm of the left wing agenda than a Christian organization, so that they denounce guns isn't surprising.

"What's a "Rotary Club"?"
-every board member under 30
The only memories I have of Rotary is my Dad taking me to the annual Christmas party as a very young kid. I guess in some small towns they are still relevant, but (IMHO) in this day in age they are irrelevant to most of the population.

The fact that it's Rotary is irrelevant, but the reality is that more and more organizations and companies and being coerced into taking sides on the political issue of firearms. That is a sad and disturbing trend. It's dangerous to our liberty. The goal is to blackmail and corporations and public bodies into doing the gun control lobby's bidding by making firearms out to be another form of contraband. Little by little the public conscience turns more people on to their agenda that guns are bad.

I believe you are correct. The pro-2nd Amendment group is fighting tooth and nail in the political arenas in Washington DC and in state capitals, while the anti-2's are fighting both in the political arenas and in the corporate boardrooms. It is much easier for a company to simply adopt a "no firearms" policy than to deal with the fervent threats of the left.
