Was it a striker fired no safety design? Does not have to be a Glock. Look at the striker fire, no thumb safety weapons at the LAPD....NDs up 30% since they began to change to the platform.

It would be interesting to learn what type of holster the person was using, whether he/she was using an overgarment, etc.

Also, I have observed how some individuals can get into a hurry to holster their handguns in a group training environment, so as not to be perceived as holding back the rest of the group, and they get sloppy with their trigger-finger placement and overall technique.

I think it was Massad Ayoob (not entirely sure, though) that once commented about holstering a handgun "reluctantly", ie, without hurry.

They don't require you to shoot Sig products at the academy or their instructor led classes. They've got guns you can shoot there if you don't want to bring in your own.

I have never understood the need to reholster quickly. If I have to use my gun in a SD situation, it will stay in my hand until I'm sure the threat is over. Reholstering is going to be done slowly and deliberately, only after I'm sure it is no longer necessary to hold it. JMHO

This has just given me another opportunity to discuss trigger disapline, holstering and reholstering with my Sister, as she carries a G 19.
