I like the finger grooves on my Gen 3, G19.

Then again, I like the fins on a 57 Chevy too...

Do they get rid of the spongy striker fired action and add an external safety?

Hhhhhmmmm, I agree regarding the spongy Glock trigger, that's why I changed it out (actually an LEO armorer buddy did it for me...) to the 3.5 connector, still not the best trigger, but better than stock.

Howsomever, compare the Glock trigger to some others like the original Keltec 9mm and it's way overly long pull and poundage or even my Ruger SP101 revolver's trigger and I'll take the Glock stock trigger over either...

I picked up a Gen 2 ,G19 police trade-in some time ago. I really preferred this frame style w/o the finger grooves. My FFL said it looked like it had hardly ever been shot, it just had a lot of holster wear around the muzzle. I put new springs and connector in it along with extended slide & mag release. It has been a very reliable and accurate shooter. Since the frame was in such good shape, I recently had the slide Cerekoted and now it looks great. If this new “Gen 5” model is for real my old relic will start looking current again.

I'm with you on the SP101 i'm thinking mine has at least a 20lb DA pull

I never understood stock finger grooves on a handgun. Even if they're a good fit for half the population, they interfere with an ideal grip for the other half. I guess they look tacti-cool or something.
