Two bounty hunters and the man they were chasing all end up dead after a shootout at a Greenville car dealership. Amazingly no one else was hurt.

Absolutely zero reason for the "bounty hunters" to engage their target inside a business with innocent people present.

My questions that I guess will probably never be answered:
Why was the fugitive at the dealership?
The hunters obviously knew he was going to be there, how did they know this?
Why didn't they try to apprehend him outside?

Man, not just in the dealership, but in a tiny office with two other people trapped, and two or three more in the next office over. Amazing nobody else got hurt.'
And whoever was running the cell phone knew something was about to happen, I wonder if that was a dealership employee or customer, or someone with the "bounty hunters?"

Was the fugitive armed? Or did he get access to one of the firearms of the "Head" hunters?

The only thing good about that scenario was the fact that no innocent people were killed.

Best as I could tell from the new article, the fugitive was armed.

It's hard to tell anything from the video, but the article says that the fugitive drew a gun that he dropped, then picked up and fired at the bounty hunters.
I'm not a huge fan of bounty hunters in general. It just seems like there are too many stories of them making poor decisions that lead to unnecessary injuries and/or deaths. But I think it's too early to make a final judgment in this case.

Notice that the person taking the video moved in closer to get better pictures, at least until the guns went off. We have all gotten so video conscious that we forget that the guns can go off. Sometime it is smarter to go for a position of safety than to record for posterity and risk your life.

Shows that you can win a gunfight and still lose!

Interesting book on the subject I read quite a few years ago: The Seekers, A Bounty Hunter’s Story by Joshua Armstrong and Anthony Bruno. It talks about doing every thing you can to catch the bad guy with least force by using your brain to catch him where he least expects it. I remember it to be well written and quite interesting.

They should have called Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman. He could have sprayed them with a giant can of pepper spray. But if he'd worn body armor while doing it old Dog would've been committing a felony.

What right does a bounty hunter have to be armed and to draw his weapon like that BEFORE the guy presents a threat? We could not get away with doing that. (oh this guy might be a threat so I will draw my handgun just in case)
