My current plans for saturday are to go shooting with my parents, brother, and 1 or 2 of his kids. Family fun day at the range!

I'd like to, but I don't think I'll be able to make it. Is this related to the Field Day event in June every year that I've read about in my technician study manual? It said that event is on the fourth full weekend so I think not, but I'm super green to this hobby...

HamCom is not related to Field Day. It is a ham radio swap-meet, has retail vendors and radio manufacturing reps there selling/displaying gear, and most importantly there are seminars and presentations to attend on various activities in ham radio. It is a great thing thing to attend for a ham, especially if you are new to the hobby.

It's only about 25 miles from the house. I may have to make my way out Saturday morning.

Went for a day last year but don't think I'm going to make it this year.
I'm fully equipped for now. Don't need any more temptations.

Me: Want to go to a Con with me tomorrow at Irving Convention Center?

A: YES

B: Yes!!!

B: What is it?

Me: Ham Con.

Me: It's for Ham radio enthusiasts.

A: no never mind

B: Wow

Me: We can leave about 7:30. You can dress up.

Then, they stopped answering me.

I will be heading out during the morning hours tomorrow. And if you haven't made it to a ComicCon, they're pretty fun too.

Not a bad morning. I'm so new though, I didn't know what I was looking at. LOL

Had hoped the local club would have a table but they did not. I had held off on joining ARRL, figuring they would be there. They were, so I joined up. They also had a testing room so I was able to upgrade to General.
