Letter from Louie Gohmert

Just received a letter from L. G. concerning the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. Says he supports it & is an original cosponsor. From there his wording on support for 2A issues begins to bother me & I wrote him back telling him so. I ask him to answer 2 Q's for us. He writes, "The Constitution's Second Amendment means what it says: (OK for now but listen to this) still quote, "our right to bear arms should not be infringed."
Did the lights come on everyone? I pointed out that KEEP was conspicuously missing and that John Kerry also assured the American public that he supported 2A with its right to "bear arms." The place to do that was in the American military. Q # 1. Mr. Gohmert, do you believe the Constitution guarantees the right of law abiding citizens to KEEP arms & bear them as a law abiding citizen? Then the Constitution says the this right SHALL not be infringed instead of should not. (Any difference in the 2 wordings Mr. Cotton). Q # 2. Mr Gohmert, do you believe the 2A guarantees the right of the individual who is a law abiding citizen SHALL NOT have this right infringed or that it just should not be infringed? I reminded him that I am a voter, NRA member, & Republican Party Precinct Chairman. I will also forward this to NRA & hope it is an oversite. Man that is a BIG overcite.
