...at a hamburger place in Houston. There were a lot of people in there. I had my .38 Spl on under my suit on my hip. It was crowded and I'm not sure if this si exactly what happen, but when I was giving my order, there were a lot of people moving about behind me in the line. At one point...I think I felt somebody tapping against my holster through my coat  . I casually turned and there were so many people moving about I wasn't sure what happened. But it distinctly felt like a tap tap tap.
Ever had this happen? Not much you can do about it...but if somebody has discovered....yikes.

true....but when people do that (tap on the side of your hip) they are usually (even if they are just fooling around) looking for a gun. I've had people do that to me in church (most people of my age group don't wear suites or even sport coat and ties anymore for church) just fooling around before.
Legally, I'm sure I'd be fine and not at fault...but it just changes things among people when they know "hey that guy carries a gun." If that was somebody fooling around, it wouldn't surprise me if their was a puddle of tee tee next to me where he was walking by while tapping me.

I can just hear it now, next time I come to a Sunday School party or event, whoever our host is pulls me aside "hey man, some people are sayin' that you carry a gun? Well, that's cool and all if you do for me, but some people are concerned about it, if you do have got one on I'd rather you leave it out in your car dude."

I can't relate to secrecy about guns since everyone in my Sunday School class IS a gun nut, and everyone in our church knows. Not many actually carry in church, although some do, but there is probably enough weaponry and ammo in the parking lot to make an Alamo type stand

I'm NOT condoning that anyone makes a public announcement to expose their carry conditions, but just pointing out that in some circles most of the folks know enough about each other to know who "may" be carrying.
(our church is a small country type church with average Sunday morning attendance of around 350)

My guess is it was a little kid or just someone bumping into you by accident.

If I see a guy in a suit in this weather, I assume he is a lawyer, a stock broker, a funeral director, or a police detective or agent.

Sunday in a hamburger place would rule out the first three, and it seems unwise to mess with a peace officer.

Years ago, when I wore a suit at work, I had a tool in the flap pocket. Someone "accused" me of packing heat. I refused to confirm or deny it. (It would have been a felony in that place.) For years afterwards there was a rumor that I packed.
