Playwright and Actor, Is Dead at 73
Sam Shepard, whose hallucinatory plays redefined the landscape of the American West and its
inhabitants, died on Thursday at his home in Kentucky of complications from amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, a spokesman for the Shepard family announced on
Monday. He was 73.

I enjoyed many of his movies and plays. RIP Sam

That's a shame. I had no idea that he was dealing with ALS, but it appears that he didn't tell too many people about it.
